VHF Marine Radio Course

STEP 1: USI

UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTITY NUMBER (USI)

Because the AWQ VHF Marine Radio is a nationally recognised training course, you are required to have a UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTITY NUMBER (USI).

You require a USI to complete your registration.

You may already have a USI from some other previous course such as a First Aid course. (this can be searched for at www.usi.gov.au )

If you DO NOT have a USI please download  this form to take you through the process.  

How to get a USI

This must be completed to finalise your enrolment and is a requirement of the National Training Regulator.

Please ensure your name is recorded as per your Identification.

ID can include:

• Drivers licence, or
• AUS Passport with Medicare Card

• ACMA: Marine VHF Radio Operators Handbook  (Viewing document only. This is supplied to you at the course, but is accessible to review prior online.)
• Get to know some Acronyms

• VHF Radio Channels and use
• VHF Radios

• Revision questions for VHF provided by Australian Maritime College.

(Good to do if you have worked your way through the handbook).

• Phonetic Alphabet (Take the time to become familiar with this. You may be asked to spell out some words)
